  • Ballooning is a fun activity for people of all ages! There are some individuals for whom ballooning isn’t appropriate and will be recommended not to fly: passengers must be able to climb in and out of the basket, able to stand unaided for the duration of the flight (45 minutes to 1 hour) and walk on uneven ground to the transportation shuttles. Passengers must be able to adopt the bended knee seated landing position, have upper-body strength and flexibility to climb in and out of the baskets. Ages 5-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Pregnant individuals and children younger than 5 cannot fly per our insurance policy limitations.

Under the Federal Aviation Administration, all hot air balloon pilots have the duty of care for all passengers and can decide ultimately if someone is safely able to participate in the flight.

  • Each flight will be approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour total flight time. For morning and evening flights, we will meet you at the pickup location at the times sent out in the conformation email / text. You will be with us for about 2.5 hours total so please plan accordingly.

Your flight confirmation will give you the details of where to meet and exactly what time to arrive. Please don’t be late as the balloon launch cannot wait for late passengers. No refunds given for late arrivals.

  • We can accommodate up to 6 passengers, weight permitting.

  • Each hot air balloon system has a maximum certified weight it can carry safely. This weight is affected by outside factors like ambient air temperature and altitude the balloon is flying. Based on these factors the maximum total passenger weight varies. Our booking system will automatically appropriate for proper weight. But before each flight, the pilot uses the passenger’s manifest weight provided to calculate how many passengers we can safely carry, and the basket is loaded accordingly.

  • Most people find pants, long sleeves and a jacket suitable, think layers. Closed toe shoes are a must as you will be climbing into a balloon basket and may require walking through some rural terrain.

  • Southern Utah has some of the best weather for flying. On average, we’re able to fly hot air balloons 275 days a year! That said, sometimes it rains and sometimes the winds blow. We continuously monitor the weather and if it looks like your selected date might be impacted, we will let you know as soon as possible. In case of inclement weather, you will have the choice of a full refund or rescheduling at your convenience.

  • We want calm stable air to fly hot air balloons in. The calmest conditions occur before the sun has a chance to heat the Earth’s surface typically at sunrise.

  • There is no direct way to steer a balloon, but pilots can climb and descend to find different wind currents. Most importantly, we evaluate wind conditions before each flight to plan the safest and most scenic route.
